Paper Weights (3. Ornamented Curse_GOTHEFUCKAWAY_FUCK!, Cherry, Fly Vanilla, Vanilla Dream, and Treasure Island)

 Various paper weights are derived from Seongmin’s paintings over the last 15 years. The Vanilla series paper weights are a companion on a desk modeled after her pet Vanilla. As peony represents wealth and prosperity in Asia, she gave a peony hat to her pets wishing happy life for them. Inspired by the Vinyl Folders, Treasure Island is a digital artwork that juxtaposes objects depicted in Seongmin’s paintings over the last 15 years.

FUCK! paper weight was inspired by the Ornamented Curse series, in which the artist transforms hurtful phrases from loved ones into decorative flourishes. She seeks to extract the associated pain and turn it into a visual representation of beauty.
