Frame notebook set of 3

Fluorescent Frame Notebooks (Notebook_4: Inverted frame, Notebook_5: Italian frame, and Notebook_6: Scroll) 

These products were inspired by Seongmin’s vinyl installation that uses frames as a main motif. Challenging the stereotypical function of the frame to preserve precious objects and memories, this series draws attention to everyday objects or scenes by framing them elaborately using common commercial materials. For example, the Italian Frame installation series “Invitation_01” focuses on a door beyond which we are not allowed to pass, inviting viewers to imagine a hyper-dimensional space beyond it. “Inverted Frame_01” switches the conventional location of the frame’s ornamentation from the outer to the inner edge, thus conceptually framing the real world. She uses fluorescent ink because it is subtle under regular light but dramatically glows under UV light, which also talks about what is seen and what is unseen but present.

2. Notebook_5: Italian Frame – Inspired by Invitation_01 (2025), this design highlights a restricted doorway, inviting viewers to imagine a space beyond.
3. Notebook_6: Scroll – Also referencing Invitation_01 (2025), it explores framing as a way to redefine spatial perception.
